Cold chain warehousing

Cold and refrigerated storage warehouse solutions for perishable goods

At Interworld Freight we offer flexible cold storage and refrigerated warehousing for businesses that rely on temperature precision. Whether you handle frozen foods, pharmaceuticals or temperature-sensitive goods, we maintain the integrity of your products from receipt to delivery with reliable cold chain infrastructure.

Cold storage means keeping goods in temperature-regulated environments to extend shelf life and preserve quality. Our warehouses run refrigeration systems that hold consistent temperature ranges, from chilled to ultra-low frozen, and comply with safety and handling regulations.

Our key cold storage locations in Miami, New Jersey and California give quick access to ports, airports and major ground transport routes, which reduces transit times and minimizes spoilage risks. Space scales for seasonal peaks, product launches or long-term storage, all in cold-compliant facilities.

FAQ

Cold and refrigerated storage, answered

What companies ask before moving perishable inventory into our cold storage.
Ask us directly
or call +1 (646) 722-0968

What is cold storage and how does it work?

+
Cold storage involves storing goods in temperature-regulated environments to extend shelf life and preserve quality. Warehouses are equipped with refrigeration systems that keep consistent temperature ranges, from chilled to ultra-low frozen, and comply with safety and handling regulations. Facilities operate under HACCP protocols and FDA and USDA rules, with 24/7 monitoring by calibrated sensors.

What’s the difference between refrigerated and frozen storage?

+
Refrigerated storage maintains chilled temperatures, 2–8 °C, ideal for fresh goods. Frozen storage keeps products at or below -18 °C to preserve them over longer periods. Ultra-low storage at -40 to -80 °C is a third tier, used for pharmaceuticals, biologics and specialty chemical goods.

How much does cold storage warehousing cost?

+
Costs depend on product type, temperature zone, space required and service level, for example storage only or fulfillment. Contact us for a tailored quote. Capacity ranges from 10 pallets to 10,000 sq ft, and the main drivers of cost are product type, temperature zone, space and service level.

Do you offer temporary or overflow cold warehouse space?

+
Yes. We provide short-term cold storage options for overflow inventory, seasonal demand or emergency needs, subject to space availability. Space scales up or down for seasonal peaks, product launches and long-term storage needs across the cold facilities.

Can I store frozen food and chilled items in the same facility?

+
Yes. Many of our warehouses feature multi-temperature zones, so you can store frozen and chilled products under one roof. Dairy, produce, beverages and floral products stay in the chilled zones, while meat, seafood and frozen meals go to the frozen zone.

Is cold storage available for international cargo?

+
Absolutely. We handle imported goods with cold chain continuity and offer refrigerated drayage, customs support and onward domestic distribution. Imported food needs FDA Prior Notice filed before arrival, and meat and other USDA-regulated products also require USDA clearance.

Where are your cold storage warehouses?

+
Our key locations are in Miami, New Jersey and California, close to ports, airports and major ground transport routes. We also run cold storage programs in Panama, Chile, Peru and the Dominican Republic. Interworld Freight has operated since 1992, holds IATA accreditation and CTPAT certification, and has 350+ people in four own offices.
