How much does air freight to the Bahamas cost?+
Air cargo is priced by chargeable weight (the greater of actual and volumetric weight), urgency and destination fees. We quote each shipment on its weight, dimensions and deadline, and confirm the final rate within one business day. Volumetric weight is length x width x height in cm divided by 6,000, so bulky light cargo is billed on volume.

Which documents do I need to ship air freight to the Bahamas?+
You need the supplier's original commercial invoice, a packing list and the air waybill, plus any permit the goods require. A licensed clearing agent files the entry in Click2Clear, the Bahamas Customs single window, within five days (excluding Sundays and public holidays). Duty of 0% to 220%, a 1% processing fee and 10% VAT are paid there before release. Business imports also need a current Business Licence. We prepare all three for you, and any permits restricted commodities need are confirmed when you quote.
Is air or ocean freight better for shipping to the Bahamas?+
Air to NAS or FPO suits loads under about 2 CBM or anything urgent; from 2 to 15 CBM, LCL from Miami is usually cheaper, and above 15 CBM a 20ft FCL wins per unit. The IWF published LCL rate to Freeport is about $940 for 5 CBM / 1,500 kg (October 2026), excluding Bahamian duty and VAT. Air is quoted per shipment. Many clients combine both: tell us your deadline and we quote the best mix.
