What documents are required for air freight to Brazil?+

Brazil requires a commercial invoice with an NCM-level description, a packing list and an air waybill showing the importer's CNPJ. The importer must hold RADAR enablement, and a DUIMP is filed in Siscomex, replacing the old DI. Controlled goods need LPCO licenses from agencies such as MAPA, ANVISA or INMETRO. Taxes include IPI, PIS-Importação at 2.1%, COFINS-Importação at 9.65% and ICMS. We prepare all three for you, and any permits restricted commodities need are confirmed when you quote.

Is air or ocean freight cheaper for shipping to Brazil?+

Air is cheaper only below about 2 CBM or when downtime is costly, as with machine spares to GRU or VCP; LCL covers 2 to 15 CBM and a 20ft FCL wins above 15 CBM. Ocean also adds the AFRMM levy, 8% of long-haul freight. LCL destination charges are significant, so compare the all-in landed cost, not just freight. Many clients combine both: tell us your deadline and we quote the best mix.
