A bonded warehouse is a facility approved by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) where imported goods can be stored without the immediate payment of duties or taxes. Duties are deferred until the goods are withdrawn for domestic consumption, or waived entirely if the goods are re-exported. It is particularly useful for importers managing complex international supply chains or uncertain distribution timelines.
