What counts as foodstuff in a shipping quote?
+
Foodstuff is the shelf-stable grocery basket: rice, flour, sugar, oils, pasta, canned goods, condiments, coffee, snacks and packaged drinks. It travels dry, which is why it consolidates well with the non-food lines a grocery importer buys on the same order.
Can you consolidate foodstuff from several suppliers into one container?
+
That is the core of this service. We open a receiving position in Miami under your name, take deliveries from every vendor you buy from, palletize and shrink wrap to your standard, and close the container on a fixed weekly day so your buyers know the cut-off.
Do you file FDA prior notice for foodstuff imports?
+
Yes, with the entry. Prior notice is the advance electronic notification the FDA requires before imported food reaches the United States, and we file it together with the FSVP details when your importer of record needs them.
How often do you sail to the Caribbean?
+
Weekly on the main lanes out of Miami, on fixed days. The value of a fixed day is not the transit time, it is that your suppliers can plan a delivery date against it instead of waiting to hear when the box closes.
How long can foodstuff sit in your Miami warehouse?
+
As long as the order needs. Short-term while the rest of the vendors deliver, or long-term as buffer stock, on a food-grade floor with FIFO rotation, lot codes and expiry captured at receipt. Bonded and Foreign Trade Zone positions are in the same building.
How is duty calculated on a foodstuff import?
+
By the HTS classification of each line, applied to the customs value, plus any FDA or USDA requirement attached to the product. Mixed containers are the place where duty goes wrong, because one misclassified line can hold the whole entry, so the classification is done before loading.
Can you ship food and non-food lines in the same container?
+
Yes, with the non-food SKUs physically separated inside the container and declared correctly on the entry. Cleaning chemicals and food never share a pallet, and anything hazardous is either declared or left out of that box.
What documents does a foodstuff shipment need?
+
Commercial invoice, packing list with lot codes, bill of lading, FDA prior notice confirmation, and a certificate of origin where a trade agreement lowers the duty. Some destinations add a phytosanitary or health certificate; we tell you which at quoting time.
Do you deliver foodstuff to the store?
+
Yes. The last leg is a door delivery to your warehouse or store, on a booked appointment, rather than a port pickup you have to arrange with a third carrier.
