How bonded storage works with InterWF

Interworld Freight's bonded warehouse process in Peru follows a clear, four-step workflow managed by our logistics and customs team.

  1. Arrival and customs transit - Your imported goods arrive at the Port of Callao or Jorge Chavez airport and are transported under customs transit to our Deposito Aduanero Autorizado. Our team coordinates drayage and manages all transit documentation with SUNAT.

  2.  Bonded admission and storage - Goods are received into bonded status with full documentation of quantities, descriptions, and values. Our Korber Warehouse Edge WMS tracks every item with lot-level detail, and goods are stored in the appropriate temperature zone within our facility.

  3. Partial withdrawals and inventory management - You can withdraw goods from bonded storage in partial quantities as needed, paying duties and IGV only on the portions you nationalize. Our team manages the SUNAT declarations for each withdrawal, and our WMS updates bonded inventory in real time.

  4. Nationalization or re-export - When you are ready to sell goods in Peru, our brokerage team processes the nationalization with SUNAT, calculating and arranging payment of applicable duties and IGV. Alternatively, goods can be re-exported to other markets duty-free, with our team handling export documentation and logistics coordination.

Deposito Aduanero vs. CETICOS: what's the difference?

Peru offers two primary mechanisms for duty-deferred storage of imported goods, each with distinct characteristics and benefits.

  • A Deposito Aduanero Autorizado (bonded warehouse) is a SUNAT-licensed facility where imported goods can be stored for up to 12 months with duties and IGV suspended. Goods can be partially withdrawn, nationalized for domestic sale, or re-exported. Depositos Aduaneros can be located in any approved location, including near major ports and airports.

  • CETICOS zones (Tacna, Ilo, Matarani, Paita) are special economic zones that offer broader benefits including duty exemption, IGV exemption, ISC exemption, and permission for light manufacturing and assembly activities. However, CETICOS locations are in specific coastal cities, which may not be as convenient as a bonded warehouse near Lima and the Port of Callao.

  • Interworld Freight can advise on which option best suits your supply chain based on your product type, volume, intended market, and operational requirements. In many cases, a combination of bonded warehousing near Lima and CETICOS zone operations provides the optimal solution.
